New Mexico Women In Film

Mission Statement

New Mexico Women in Film is a New Mexico-based outreach network committed to the professional development and achievement of women in the film and television community through Mentorship, Networking, Education, and Community.

What We Do

Each month NMWIF sponsors a member event on a wide range of topics to help inform and connect our film community.

A wide range of topics to help inform and connect our film community. Examples of past panel discussions with leaders in the industry include Screenwriting, Social Media, Casting, Finance/Budgeting, Crowdfunding, Green Filmmaking, and Mentoring. We also bring national and international mentors to New Mexico for workshop events throughout the year.

Every week, NMWIF hosts screenwriting groups in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Additionally, each member receives a monthly e-newsletter with industry information, events, and opportunities.

The annual Sage Award was created by NMWIF to honor a person who is dedicated to the ‘greater feminine’ and active in supporting women in the film and TV industry. We are very proud of our recipients who have received the Sage Awards since its inception, including Shirley MacLaine, Ali MacGraw, and Trish Lopez.

It is our honor to offer scholarships to NMWIF members in good standing. Each year, we award financial grants to further the projects, training or education of our members, and thus their careers.

Women in Film chapters around the world have made numerous PSAs for 501c3 charities and NMWIF is honored to continue this effort in New Mexico.

The NMWIF Screenwriters Group is a collection of writers & actors who meet every week in Albuquerque and Santa Fe to read and give feedback on new work.
